With a network of 170km of bridleways criss-crossing the landscape, quiet lanes and equestrian facilities on offer, horse-riders have plenty of choice.

Our bridleway network offers riders the freedom to plan their own journey that gets to the heart of Nidderdale – whether its routes that take you up onto windswept moorland, along wooded lanes, across open fields or past historic landmarks.

Riders with their own horses can plan their own adventure in this corner of Yorkshire by using the Ordnance Survey (OS) Explorer 297 or 298 maps, which covers most of the National Landscape.

North Yorkshire Council and Ride Yorkshire are both good sources of information.

SJ Equestrian Horse Livery at Warsill, and Fountains Equestrian at Bewerley, near Pateley Bridge, both offer livery services.
