Our Work
Our Work
Paul Harris

The Nidderdale National Landscape team serves the local community, visitors, and the wider public. We ensure the environment is protected and evolves sustainably.

Our efforts include:

  • Working extensively with landowners and farmers to promote sustainable land management practices.
  • Administering the Farming in Protect Landscape grant for Nidderdale National Landscape and providing wider funding advice for example for tree planting and farming.
  • We advise North Yorkshire Council on planning related decisions impacting the Nidderdale National Landscape.
  • Developing specific projects that help deliver the aims in our management plan.
  • Actively working to address unequal access to nature and green spaces, creating a landscape for everyone.

Our work is supported by dedicated volunteers, and we are committed to offering volunteering opportunities. We also collaborate with many partners and stakeholders including the registered charity, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, who fund projects that support our aims and objectives.

Our goals and areas of focus are detailed in our Management Plan 2019-2024.
