Nidderdale National Landscape is already a special place for nature, home to a wide range of habitats and species. Nevertheless, we recognise that – as is the case across Yorkshire and the rest of the UK – nature is, in general, declining and significant effort will be required to reverse this trend and help nature to recover.

Many species will benefit from work to improve habitat condition and connectivity. Four species have been selected for targeted action: Black Grouse, Adder, Wading Birds and Waxcap.
